Executive Assistant (Seattle)

About Us

Our mission is to raise AGI with the richness of human intelligence — curious, witty, imaginative, and full of unexpected brilliance.

Surge was founded by engineers and researchers who dreamed of building the next generation AI. We're building a platform that powers the most powerful models in the world in partnership with companies like Anthropic, Google, Microsoft, and Meta.

At Surge, we believe the path to AGI isn't just about scaling compute—it's about embracing the unlimited ceiling of human intelligence and creativity in the data that shapes these systems. Our platform combines elite human expertise with cutting-edge tools for scalable oversight, from building rich RL environments to conducting rigorous evaluations that go beyond benchmarks. We've run a profitable business from day one without raising venture funding.

The Role

We are looking for a Seattle-based Executive and Personal Assistant to support our leadership team locally. The ideal candidate should have a keen attention to detail and be able to successfully schedule, manage and execute work and personal commitments without sacrificing speed, quality, or taste. This person should have their finger on the pulse — socially connected, tasteful, and can get things done with polish and discretion in a fast-paced environment. This is a non-traditional EA role; this person will be exposed to various aspects of Surge’s business while also managing the dynamic personal needs of leadership. Background experience as an EA/PA is nice, but not required. Given the scope of this role, candidates from various backgrounds may be a strong fit, so if any of the following bullet points speak to you, you should apply!

What We're Looking for

  • Candidates must be based in Seattle and expect to provide in-person support at least 3 days a week
  • Ability to travel and adjust to evolving priorities, including evening and weekend events
  • Experience in executive support, office management, or operations – ideally within a high-growth environment
  • No specific industry experience required - event planning, travel, music, entertainment, art, hospitality, medicine, and more are all welcome!
  • Discreet, polished, and two steps ahead at all times; ability to get things done without explicit instruction or reminders
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to communicate with internal and external stakeholders and provide succinct daily updates to leadership
  • Technically proficient with platforms like Google Workspace, Notion, Slack, Calendly, and Microsoft Office Suite. Candidates should expect to use LLMs to support personal workflows
  • Strong judgement about design and hospitality; connections in the city's food, design, and creative scenes are a plus

What You’ll Do

  • Serve as the primary point of contact and for any parties that need to be in touch with leadership
  • This includes Surge customers, employees, and candidates, as well as external contacts like press inquires, appointments, and household vendors and staff
  • Manage work and personal calendars
  • Manage work and personal travel
  • Assist with personal projects and errands
  • Support the growing number of Surge employees in the Seattle area by planning get-togethers and scoping office space
  • Also includes support and execution of other local events like team onsites, social events, customer engagement events, and recruiting events

How to Apply

To apply, please record a short video (less than 5 minutes) introducing yourself and answering the following prompt from leadership: “I have to visit a few cities throughout Asia for client meetings next month. I’ll be in Taiwan, Tokyo, Hong Kong and Beijing. I’ve never been; tell me what to do.”

Once complete, send a link to the video and a copy of your resume as a PDF to careers@surgehq.ai. Our team will reach out with next steps!
